Introduction:

Weight loss and exercise are not the only thing to do when ou want to lose weight other factors may really change the equation from weigth gain to weight loss, today I will mention 10 reasons for weight loss failure with solutions to fix them.


1. They don’t get enough sleep

Lack of sleep or sleep deprivation has been linked with weight gain and this is due to high level of cortisol along high cravings to food with fatigue and low level of energy.


Per the NSF, here are the minimum sleep guidlines by age:

· Newborns (less than 4 months) – 12 to 18 hours per day

· Infants (4-11 months): 12 to 15 hours

· Toddlers (1-2 years): 11 to 14 hours

· Preschoolers (3-5 years): 10 to 13 hours

· School-age children (6-13 years): 9 to 11 hours

· Teenagers (14-17 years): 8 to 10 hours

· Young adults (18-25 years): 7 to 9 hours

· Adults (26-64 years): 7 to 9 hours

· Older adults (65 years and over): 7 to 8 hours

2. They’re experiencing a lot of stress

Stress situations increase level of cortisol hormone and alter insulin sensitivity the result will be sugar spike and fat sotrage. A sudden decrease in blood sugar may lead to weight gain.

So to avoid stress you need to practice meditation, yoga and exercise.


3. They’re getting older.

As we get older our metabolism will slow down and if we continue to have same diet as before we tend to gain weight as muscle mass will be lost and there is increase in fat storage so instead you need to have a new diet and make smart choices by consuming more fruits and vegetables and less junk. Drink plenty of water (see below) and perform regular exercise within your physical capabilities.


4. They’re not drinking enough water to lose weight.

Water is very important for normal metabolic process. And thirst sometimes is mistaken with hunger so you tend to over consume food than you really needs.

Aim to drink about 2 litters daily and listen to thirst sensation. If you dont like water flavor you can squeeze fresh lemon to enhance flavor.


5. Their family history.

Overweight or obesity can be inherited if one or two parents are obese. Some people they inherit high waisltine or abdominal obesity from their parents. You can not fix genes instead you need to follow a diet with exercise to lose weight.


6. They take certain prescription meds, which makes it hard to lose weight.

Some medications like anti-depressants, anti-convulsants and medications for diabetes may cause weight gain

So you need to consult to your doctor maybe for changing the medications or fo adjusting the dose or he/she may prescribing a diet along with exercise to lose extra weight.


7. They have an underlying medical condition.

Certain diseases like diabetes, PCOS and inactive thyroid are linked with weight gain. So the solution will be to consult your doctor ASAP to manage disease and to prevent unwanted side effects including weight gain.


8. They don’t lose weight because they have erratic eating habits.

Living in an environment that does not encourage you to follow or adapting healthy habits can lead to weight gain and weight loss failure. So instead you need to find strategies to follow healthy lifestyle instead of sticking to strict regimen that is probably prone to failure. If you have work you can simply bring your food with you to your office or you need to do some exercise between your break.


9. They keep dieting.

Diet is really important for weight loss but the result will be always failure of diet as people tend to stop dieting when they reach their goals and the result will be over short period. Instead you need to follow healthy lifestyle for longer period and it can be done by making just few changes and adapting healthy eating by adding more fruits, vegetables, whole grains asnd less processed food and sugar. Dont forget to drink plenty of water along with exercise.


10.They forget about “liquid sugar.”

Unhealthy soft drinks and carbonated beverages are just loaded with sugar and the result wil be always overconsumption,more sugar, more fat storage and voila weight gain. So you ened to replace these unwanted sugary beverages with tea or flavored water.

Water is the ebst fluid for your body.
