Introduction:
Okay I cannot wake up in the morning without my cup of coffee and this is really true as coffee provides your body with energy that keeps you alert during the long day. But after you read this article you may start thinking about another move to cut back on coffee.
1. SOME PEOPLE EXPERIENCE HEADACHES
Caffeine cause the blood vessels to constrict thus slow blood flow and that is why headache occur when you stop drinking your cup of coffee for one day. But after you cut back totally on your coffee, your body adapt and then your blood vessels return to normal and you have improved blood flow.
2. YOUR MOOD MIGHT TAKE A TURN FOR THE WORSE — OR BETTER
Giving up coffee can be difficult as anxiety and depression in addition to mood swings could occur and this is normal. But once you cut back on coffee your mood will start improving.
Caffeine can increase anxiety and this depends on person sensitivty toward caffeine, for fast metabolizers drinking two-three cups of coffee may give them focus while for slow metabolizers drinking just one cup can make them anxious or nervous.
3. YOUR ENERGY MIGHT LAG — BUT THEN BECOME MORE STABLE
You cannot wake up in the morning without your cup of coffee not only you but all of us and this is due to the effect of caffeine on increasing alertness and reducing fatigue by blocking adenosine receptors. You may feel drowsy when you give up on coffee but this is at the early phase and later on you will find your energy getting back. Moreover you will have a better sleep quality as studies have been shown that drinking caffeine within 6 hours prior to sleep may disrupt sleep.
4. IT MIGHT LOWER YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE
There is a conflict considering effect of caffeine on blood pressure and cardiovascular disease, when some studies show that caffeine improve heart function while others show that coffee may deteriorate heart health with time.
Some studies suggest that caffeine increase blood pressure by preventing blood vessels from becoming widened while other suggest that caffeine stimulate adrenaline which increase blood pressure. In order to know if your are sensitive to caffeine and your blood pressure may increase, you need to take your blood pressure before drinking coffee and then you will measure it agin after 30 mniutes-2 hours of drinking your cup of coffee.
5. THE DENTIST WILL NOTICE
Caffeine has been linked with tooth discoloration, bad breath due to bacterial buildup and moreover dental caries due to sugar content of some caffeinated beverages. After giving up on caffeine you will notice an improved orall health.
6. DIGESTIVE ISSUES MIGHT DIMINISH
Drinking coffee can lead to an upset stomach, acid reflux and increased urination as it works as diuretic.
Moreover, coffee decrease absorption of many nutrients like calcium, iron and B vitamins.
7. YOU’LL MISS OUT ON COFFEE’S HEALTH BENEFITS
Coffee has several beenfits on overall health and we will mention some of them today:
· Lowers your risk of developing Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, Parkinson’s disease and melanoma
· Improves liver health
· Protects the brain against dementia
· Might help you live longer
Moreover, coffee is rich in antioxidant, boost metabolism and improve physical and mental abilities.
For me it is not necessary to give up on sugar as you are consuming coffee in moderation. But if you have negative effects like acid reflux, stomach upset and elevated blood pressure you need to think again and to change your lifestyle.
Moderation is the key, enjoy your cup of coffee but dont overdose!
