Introduction:

Your weight on the scale may change from one day to another, this is may be due to a big meal from the night before or sweating from a strenuous exercise, fat loss or gain may be a reason too. But other reasons may exist.

1: salt fluctuations due to water retention that add extra weight to scale. People who are salt sensitive add more water while others add less water.

Na is hidden in may products like canned soup, cold cuts, frozen meats. Replacing big meals with low caloric soup will add extra pounds even as water retention.

2:Carbohydrate: People who love starchy food like pasta, rice, spaghetti tend to have extra weight as water because each gram of carbohydrate will need 3 extra grams of water to be stored. In addition, refined carbohydrates contain sodium and result in water retention.

3: Food weight: Food will add extra weight to your body, and especially due to water content that adds extra pounds. When 2 cups of water may add one pound to your weight. Calories from food are used for energy and later for storage. Excess is excreted as urine and stools.

4: Bowel movement: Weight change due to bowel movement will not result in the big change in weight on a scale. The optimal transit time is 24-48 hours, to improve transit time you should consume more dietary fiber.

5:Exercise: Your weight will surely change after exercise. Your body will lose 25-45 ounces of fluid per hour during exercise. If you are following a good hydrating plan for replacing fluid lost in exercise, your weight will not change, if it changes check and adjust your plan.

Some types of exercise will result in daily weight fluctuations, like strength training that cause water retention of water in your muscles.

6: Medications: Some types will result in weight gain by increasing appetite and water retention, other may affect carbohydrates storage which leads to fat disposition in the midsection of your body. Some medications like diabetes, hypertension, migraine, and seizures may result in weight gain.

7: Weight fluctuation from menstrual cycle, Bloating and fluid retention before and during the cycle will result in weight gain. In addition hormonal changes that may result in binge eating and emotional eating too.

This habit will result in mindless eating and weight gain from food and water.

8: Alcohol is diuretic and results in urine flow within 20 minutes. It may result in weight loss, but in weight gain too when accompanied by eating of salty food that results in water retention and eventually weight gain.
