Decreased physical activity and increased temptation toward junk food will result in weight gain and increased risk of chronic disease.


To avoid this, they should :

Control portions size and go for healthy dishes like green salad, lean meats, fruits, and vegetables while avoiding sugar drinks, French fries, and sodas.

Go for healthy snacks like vegetables and fruits while avoiding intake of chips and cheese puffs.

Go whole and avoid refined sugar

Avoid sugary drinks and replace them with water

Go for exercise and stay always active

Go for a walk 30 minutes/5 times/week


Married:

Decreased physical activity due to homestay and desire to eat more and not noticing weight changes may add more pounds to your body. To control this follow these recommendations.


Try to exercise with your partner, the gym is a good idea.

Choose healthy food that is low caloric

Go for salad instead of large junk food

Cook together and plan your meal for two


Pregnancy :

You must eat for two, this is what we hear just from our ancestors but this is not true and the result will be only extra weight and pounds to your body and complications at delivery.


To control this:

Breastfeeding is helpful in weight loss

Go for exercise post-partum

Avoid junk food

Go for healthy choices

Choose fruits, whole grain, vegetables

The change may take up to one year, be patient diet is not magic it’s a lifestyle.

It’s the peak time when people lose their control over food and the result will be only extra pounds and panic after this, so what should I do to avoid mindless eating at holidays :


Eat light healthy snacks before going to parties

Don’t go around the buffet

Avoid extra sauces

Continue your exercises plan

Control your alcohol intake

Control your caloric intake as your needs change at this age

Use supplements especially vitamin D and calcium for your bones. Start before menopause

Increase the intake of fruit and vegetables, in addition to food that is rich in vitamin B-6, vitamin E, and omega-3
