For me as a dietitian I really recommend to try small dietary changes and to transform your eating habits into sustainable pattern instead of sticking to a paper of diet and have failure.

So today we will learn how to help your diet to become a way of life:

1. You don’t need to give up on your favourite food:

Okay we all know that your eating pattern must include healthy choices like lean protein sources, fruits, vegetables, complex carbs and healthy fats but wait this does not mean that you need to give up on your favourite foods as you can allow some space for food treats like cookies or ice cream but sure don’t overconsume.

In addition you can make smart steps like filling up your stomach with vegetables instead of doubling your pasta.

2. You need to add food that promote satiety:

You need to choose food that keep you full for longer period and delay time of the next meal. So you need to include lean protein sources like chicken breast or tune, in addition to filling fibre in whole grains and fruits and vegetables. Don’t forget to add healthy fats like avocado, olive oil or olives but keep them in moderation.

3. Small changes:

Always start with making small changes and setting short term goals for example adding additional vegetables serving to your meal or even have enough water intake to stay always hydrated. Or you can start physical activity for 30 minutes daily.

4. You need to make healthy habits:

Don’t stick to a piece of paper instead try to include new healthy habits to your lifestyle? Remember a diet that don’t fit to your lifestyle is related to failure.

5. Don’t feel guilty:

If you cheat don’t wait until another week to get back on track instead skip what you did and start again with healthy food.
