Splenda:
Sucralose and Splenda are artificial sweeteners and sugar replaces. While Splenda is the brand name of sucralose. You may find sucralose sold as some grocery stores. They can be used in baking and cooking as they are heat stable.
Sucralose is found in diet sodas, yogurt and frozen cereals.
How Is Sucralose Made?
Sucralose is made from table sugar sucrose, during processing three hydrogen-oxygen are replaced with chlorine. Sucralose is 600 times sweeter than sucrose, so little amount is needed to have sweet taste. They are labelled as calorie free because the body don’t absorbed sucralose as sugar and it remains intact.
Safety Record
Sucralose is an FDA approved sweetener and safe to be used by all ages. It does not interact with medications.
