9 Healthy low-carb snacks with under 5 grams of carbs

While you are hungry between meals it is better to choose low carbs snack that prevent tempting and keep your cravings under control.


Today I will mention some healthy low carbs snack but they are high in protein, fibre and fat that curb appetite and helps you to become full.


Ricotta with Raspberries

You may combine 1/3 cup of ricotta along with ¼ cup of raspberries and you may add topping like flaxseed or chopped nuts. Read label carefully for ricotta cheese as well choose fresh raspberries as frozen contain a little bit more carbs. You can choose zero carbs sweeteners.


Here are the nutritional facts:

· 4 grams net carbohydrate plus 2 grams fiber

· 10 grams protein

· 158 calories


Tuna Salad with Celery

You can serve half of tuna salad with non-starchy vegetables.


The nutritional facts include:


· 2 grams net carbs plus 2 grams fiber = 4 grams total carb

· 12 grams protein

· 183 calories


Spinach Turkey Rollups

You could wrap 1 slice of turkey or luncheon meat with ¼ cup of spinach.


The nutritional facts include:


· 2 grams net carbohydrate plus 1 gram fiber

· 10 grams protein

· 153 calories


Hard Boiled Eggs with Radishes

You can eat one-two eggs but adding some vegetables will increase fibre intake. For example, 10 medium radishes (which go nicely with hard-boiled eggs) have only 1 gram of net carb.


The nutritional information for two hard-boiled eggs plus 10 radishes give you:


· 1 gram net carb plus 1 gram fiber

· 13 grams protein

· 212 calories


Almonds

Almonds are super food but make smart choices and avoid flavoured version. For 1/4 cup almonds, the nutritional facts include:


· 3 grams net carb plus 4 grams fiber

· 8 grams protein

· 206 calories


Salami:

Salami is another way to go. One ounce of hard salami has:

· 1 gram net carb

· 6 grams protein

· 110 calories


Cheese

Cheese are good source of protein but be careful about fat content if you have any medical concern:

One ounce of cheddar cheese contains:

· 1 gram net carb

· 7 grams protein

· 116 calories


One mozzarella string cheese stick contains:

· 0 gram net carb

· 7 grams protein

· 80 calories


Wrap cheese with tomatoes and lettuce to keep it a mini-meal.


Plain Yogurt with Cinnamon

Yogurt is a powerful source of protein but avoid choices with added sugar and fruits and choose plain version. If you don't like it plain, but want to keep it at 5 grams carbs, add cinnamon to sweeten it. Here's what's in 1/2 cup of plain whole milk yogurt:


· 5 grams net carb

· 4 grams protein

· 61 calories


Walnuts

Walnuts, like almonds, are high in nutrition. Seven whole (14 halves) of include:

· 4 grams net carb plus 2 grams fiber

· 4 grams protein

· 183 calories


Since walnuts are rich and high in fat, you may want to use fewer than seven whole nuts or 14 halves, and instead allot the carb grams you save to fruit or cottage cheese.
