Introduction:
Root vegetables are delecious yet healthy part of healthy diet. They are edible plant that grows underground some examples are potatoes,onions, turnips and more.
Today i will mention some roots vegetables and their nutritional values.
Onions: Rich source of antioxidant and may help in reducing blood sugar and preventing certain cancers
Sweet potatoes: They improve blood sugar and are high in vitamin A, in addition, they are good for immunity, vision and skin health
Turnips: They are rich in vitamin C and then boost immunity. Eating this vegetable is associated with lower cancer risk.
Ginger: Rich in antioxidant and has been linked to relieving nausea, reduced inflammation, and pain
Beets: Improve exercise performance and are rich in nitrates. They increase blood flow and decrease cancer risk
Garlic: Improves immunity, lower blood pressure and cholesterol and triglycerides
Raddish: Rich in vitamin C and fiber, in addition, they are antifungal protect against stomach ulcer
Fennel: Reduce blood sugar and block bacterial growth as they are rich in anethole
Carrots: Rich in beta-carotene to improve vision, rich in antioxidant and lower cholesterol level
Celeriac: Rich in vitamin K that plays a role in the blood clotting process
Tumeric: Rich in curcumin, lower blood sugar, joint pain and symptoms of depression
Potatoes: Rich in resistant starch, are filling and help in weight loss program
Rutabagas are high in fiber and glucosinolates, which may help protect against cancer and prevent oxidative stress.
