Introduction:
Some vitamins and minerals supplements may cause stomach irritation and diarrhoea once they are taken on empty stomach so it’s better to take them after meal.
Vitamin A, E and K are fat soluble vitamin so it is better to take it with fat meal to enhance absorption.
Considering vitamin B it is better to take supplements in the morning but if it doesn’t affect your sleep you can take them in the evening.
As vitamin C enhance iron absorption so take vitamin C along with iron to enhance absorption.
It is not clear when it is better to take vitamin D regardless of the time of supplement; vitamin D interfere with sleep quality when taken in very large doses.
Avoid taking calcium with iron or multivitamin supplement as they interact between each other and affect their absorption. Calcium supplement is usually accompanied with magnesium and let you fall asleep so make sure to take it in a convenient time for you.
It is better to take magnesium supplement in the night as they improve sleep and help people who suffer from leg cramp in solving their problem.
In general it’s better to take multivitamin supplement along with meal as most of them are fat soluble and cause stomach upset. People mainly choose the morning as the best time to take supplements when they take medications.
Your vitamins and minerals supplements can’t remember you if you don’t remember them so make them part of your morning routine and take them along your breakfast and fat-rich meals.
