Diabetes type 2 - the ‘superfood’ snack you should be eating to avoid high blood sugar

We all know now that diabetes type 2 is a chronic disease due to lifestyle factors, sedentary lifestyle and age too. But wait healthy eating is still a key point to control blood sugar and prevent diabetes complications.


One superfood to add to your diet is raspberries as they could lower blood sugar and they are rich in anthocyanin a powerful antioxidant that boost insulin sensitivity.

According to studies eating 160 mg of anthocyanin two times per day may lower fasting blood sugar by 8.5%.


Not only raspberries but also other types of fruits that belong to berries family and are powerful for diabetic patients like cherries, strawberries and blackberries.


Berries family are rich in vitamin C and fibre and they are low in carbs which make them good choice for diabetic patients.


You can enjoy berries as healthy snacks or as dessert.


If you are not a big fan of berries you can still eat other citrus fruit in moderation.

Some common symptoms diabetes are feeling tired, wounds need more time to heal and frequent urination.


So whenever you have this symptoms done hesitate to consult your doctor to make appropriate diagnosis and treatment.
