Whatever is the type of probiotic drin kyou choose you need a base like milk, beet juice, coconut water, tea, etc in addition to some type of yeast, kefir grains or starter agent (such as a SCOBY”, or symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast that;s used to make kombucha).

You will need extra water, sugar and salt but dont worry about sugar as fermentation process by bacteria tyurn sugar into beneficial acid.

Here are a few helpful tips for making your own probiotic drink:

  • You need a warm place in the kitchen for a better fermentation so about 76-78 degrees

  • Use filtered spring water or boiled tape water to eleminate chemicals

  • Use organic ingredients like organic tea, vegetables, fruits and grains

  • If you want to use fresh fruits and veegtables make sure to peel them to remove any residue

  • Store probiotics in glass bottles with screw-on tops

  • Allow fermentation for 1-10 days and this depends on the type of probiotic

  • Short fermentation time lead to a weaker probiotic

  • Longer fermentation time lead to tartness

Best time to take supplements:

On empty stomach to enhance absorption but considering probiotics beverages any time is convenient especially if you have antibiotics treamtent and that to balance bacteria into your gut.
