Mediterranean diet is ranked among the healthiest diet and it emphasizes on fresh fruits, healthy fat, whole grains and lean protein sources. In addition it focuses more on healthy choices rather than eliminating food groups.


This diet is not low carbs diet as it focus on fruits, whole grains and dairies but you can adapted to fit low carbs diet


Following Mediterranean diet to fit low carbs need extra planning but it starts first with which carbs to choose to feel satisfied. Next you may choose to fill your plate with fresh vegetables, lean protein in addition to healthy fats like nuts, avocado, seeds and olive oil. In this way you are choosing both Mediterranean and low carb diet. You can moderate intake of fresh fruits, legumes and dairies.


What really matters is to have plenty of food to ensure variety of food you need them. Don’t forget to include fiber that are missing in low carbs diet. You can still enjoy small amount of whole grains, berries, and legumes to hit the recommended 25 to 35 daily grams of fiber.


You need to focus on macronutrient goals while still watching your carbs intake.
