Limes are sour, bright green and round citrus fruits.


There are many species of lime and each one has its own characteristics.


Due to their nutritional value they may boost immunity, lower risk of CVD, prevent kidney stones, enhance iron absorption and promote healthy skin.


They contains small amount of iron, calcium, vitamin B6, thiamine and K+.


Due to their vitamin C content they shorten duration of cold and fever in addition it boost collagen and women with high intake of vitamin C have less wrinkles than women who don’t get enough amount of this vitamin.


Limes may reduce risk of cancer due to their flavonoids that work as antioxidant and they stop gene expression that promote cancer progression.


Due to their vitamin C they enhance iron absorption for plant-based sources.

Finally they are high in citric acid which lower risk of kidney stones and increase citrate in urine.
