Is the keto diet safe? USC experts have some serious concerns
The keto diet is a high fat, moderate protein and low carbs diet that has become popular for it is effect on massive weight loss. It is based on creating ketosis state when the body burn fat instead of using carbs for energy and eventually weight loss will occur.
The diet calls for cutting out major groups of foods, such as grains, legumes and dairy and sometimes cutting back on certain nutrient-rich vegetables.
Is the keto diet safe: the main problem?
The key problem is keto diet is that it is deficient in micronutrient and it is poorly nutritious. It lacks fiber and many B vitamins that we found in carbs products. Moreover, keto diet has special use for people with epilepsy.
Is the keto diet safe: getting results?
The idea is that you can get same result as keto but maybe over longer period so simply you can cut back on sugar, refined carbs and processed food and juices while you eat well balanced diet, high in fruits and vegetables that offer your body nutrition profile with antioxidant power.
About the keto diet
The ketogenic diet is high in fat, moderate in protein and low in carbs. It is may be necessary for people with certain medical conditions like epilepsy and can be a big issue for people with kidney disease. We don’t really know the effect on long term for ketosis diet. My advice is to stick to healthy diet and well-balanced diet while you have an acceptable distribution of macronutrient.
