Each tablespoon of honey= 15 grams contains 64 calories when 17 grams of carbohydrates are 13% of daily value, 1 mg sodium ( 0 % of daily value) and 11 mg of potassium ( 12% of daily value).


All calories in honey come from carbohydrate and from different types of sugar: sucrose, fructose, and glucose: 65% in addition to water: 18%

Fructose is more than glucose and sucrose is very little amount.


The glycemic index of honey is between 45-64 and vary according to the type of honey.


Fats: There is no fat in honey. But you can have fat while you add honey to foods like yogurt, cream, and bread.


Protein: Little and trace amount that will not contribute to your requirement.


Minerals and vitamins:

You won't gain a significant amount of vitamins and minerals while you consume honey and this is due to the little amount we consumed. Vitamin B, calcium, copper and iron are derived mainly from the soil. So the type of a mineral depends on the type of soil

Honey may help in treating asthma, promote wound healing and provide antioxidant benefits.


Is honey healthier than sugar?

Because honey is loaded with trace minerals, it is known to provide more benefits than sugar but in the end, both contain sugar and we should cut back on them. But honey makes you eat mindfully as its consistency help in eating less.
