Indian diet plan for type 2 diabetes that aids weight loss

Diabetes is a common chronic disease affecting population and it is related to insulin resistance or insufficient insulin secretion when the result is uncontrolled blood sugar. Bad eating habits, sedentary lifestyle, being obese or overweight increase your risk of diabetes. Dietary changes and active lifestyle are really important to manage diabetes in addition to medications. A new dietary regimen is the Indian diet plan it may seem helpful in managing diabetes.


Indian diet plan for type 2 diabetes to lose weight and get a flat tummy


Post-dinner meal: It is the most important meal and to avoid hypoglycemia it is recommended to have an apple before bed time.


Add fiber: Fiber lower blood sugar as it has low glycemic index, enjoy your meals with greens or vegetables to increase your fiber intake.


Functional foods: Spices, herbs and nuts are functional food but for diabetes little food were found to be effective.


· Fenugreek seeds: 1 teaspoon daily in the morning. Studies have been show hypoglycemic effect and hypolipidemic effect of seeds.


· Gooseberry or Amla: 10 grams in the form of juice or powder. They are powerful antioxidant.


· Turmeric: Curcumin has anti-inflammatory effect which lowers complications of diabetes.


Don’t forget physical activity even you are following dietary changes as it helps to lower blood sugar, increases insulin sensitivity, lowers risk of heart problems, improves muscle mass, and of course, aids weight loss.
