When you go into excessive drinking or high doses of alcohol you will have a bad day in the next morning. As hangover is referred to a series of signs and symptoms which occur after a recent episode of heavy drinking. Common symptoms of a hangover include feeling dizzy, sleepy, sick, thirsty and confused.

The best way to avoid hangover is for sure stop drinking alcohol as it is bad for your physical and mental health and serious disease will occur.


In the case of severe hangover, water is very important as it helps to restore fluid balance lost during drinking process. Moreover some nutrients can help too.


Foods that can save you from a hangover

1. Lemons: A glass of water lemon is a classic remedy to treat hangover. Lemon ginger tea or adding lemon juice to your black tea can also help in effectively getting rid of a hangover. Lemons are effective as they help in restoring pH balance in the body.


2. Avocado: Alcohol drinking decreases potassium from body and as avocado is rich in potassium, it can rescue in case of hangover. Moreover, avocado contains nutrients that protect against liver damage which is a common side effect of alcohol.


3. Eggs: Alcohol consumption reduces glutathione content in the body, cysteine a component in the eggs produces glutathione. Eating eggs during a hangover can help you get over a hangover.


4. Oats: Complex carbs in oats slow down the spike in blood sugar and thus decrease severity of hangover. In the day of hangover, prefer having complex carbs in the form of brown rice, sweet potatoes, whole wheat bread, quinoa, etc. Carbs reduce feeling of fatigue and improve mood as it provides the body with energy needed to function properly.


5. Coconut water: Coconut water is really important to restore lost fluids.Presence of electrolytes like magnesium, potassium, sodium and phosphorus in coconut water are great for hydration. They help in restoring electrolyte levels and help in balancing fluids in the body.


6. Ginger: In case of nausea switch to ginger as it can help in recovering from an upset stomach in case of a hangover. You can have ginger tea or add ginger to a soup for relief.
