Can I Eat Oatmeal on a Low-Carb Diet?
Oatmeal are classified as complex carbs and thus could be a good choice for healthy breakfast even you are on low carbs diet.They are rich in fiber, some protein, iron, B vitamins, and more.
Half cup of oatmeal offers 27 grams of carbs and four grams of fiber.
In general, oatmeal is a satisfying meal and this could benefit people who are following a low-carb diet since you can still overeat complex carbs if you're not careful. You can pair oatmeal with a high-protein food such as yogurt, cottage cheese, or eggs because this will result in a more stable blood sugar and less hunger.
How Many Carbs Should I Eat to Lose Weight?
In general carbs needs are between 45-65% of total calories and if your aim is to lose weight you need to stick to the lower percentage which 45% and you should not go below 130 grams daily.
If you are trying to gain muscle than you need to have a macronutrient distribution as: 55% of carbs, 25% of protein and 20% of fat.
