Overeating food that is high caloric and high in fat and sugar may result in production of free radicals as they attack cells while your body is trying to metabolize fat and carbohydrate. To decrease these damaging free radicals a good idea is to add nutritious food to your diet plate.

1. Eat Fruit

If you eat a dessert that is high in calories and sugar, follow it with whole fruit like kiwi, raspberries and strawberries as they are rich in antioxidants that fight free radicals. If it is not in the same day, make a plan ahead to have whole fruit in the following day. You can have your fruit instead of sweet, try fruit salad or even whole grain toast with fruit spreading. You may also add fruit smoothie to your diet plan.

2. Go for Vinegar

Adding tablespoon of vinegar to your salad dish may avoid the spike in blood sugar that happens after sugar consumption which triggers increased appetite. Rapid spike in blood sugar can be a problem for people with diabetes.

3. Drink Wine

Drinking one glass of red wine that is high in antioxidant help in reducing a compound that is related to heart disease. Don’t forget moderation is the key.

4. Add Spices to Your Meals

Oregano, black pepper and turmeric spices are rich in antioxidant and lower fatty acid level as they slow down fat absorption and lower insulin level. They fight free radicals.

Conclusion:

Consuming large meals won’t break your diet plan. Don’t feel guilty, rather go for a walk, and drink plenty of water and adding more fruits and vegetables to quench free radicals.
