High blood pressure:

High blood pressure should not left uncontrolled as strokes and heart attacks may result. A well balanced diet and healthy one is the key to control high blood pressure. A key nutrient if dried fruit can be helpful. Medication can be prescribed along with dietary regimen. Sometimes people change diet plan instead of medication.

Dietary changes include eating a healthy, balanced diet that is low in salt and saturated fat - guidelines recommended for all people whether they have high blood pressure or not. But including certain foods with blood pressure-lowering

Dried apricot is a type of dried fruit that can lower blood pressure. They are good source of fiber, potassium and both vitamin A and E. Usually they are made from dehydrated fresh apricots.

Potassium is the mineral that lower blood pressure. It helps the kidneys to balance the level of salt.

Kidneys are responsible for controlling the amount of fluid in the body, which in turn controls blood pressure. This is because the more fluid in the body, the higher your blood pressure. The kidneys work by filtering the blood and sucking out any extra fluid, which it then stores in the bladder as urine.

Consumption of salt was linked to high blood pressure and reduced ability of kidney to remove water. So a diet rich in potassium is important to balance sodium amount.

Eating salt raises the amount of sodium in the bloodstream, which wrecks the balance, reducing the ability of the kidneys to remove water.
