Introduction:
Both strength training and aerobic exercise are important for weight loss, improve mobility and lower risk of many diseases. As exercise takes time from your day sometimes it is difficult to fit exercise into your daily routine so a better way is to devide exercise into twice a day which may also help speed up your weight loss.
Extra Calorie Burn
Exercsing twice a day increases the amount of calories burns as it increases the time of exercise. The longer you exercise, the more calories you burn. Of course, this benefit only occurs when you increase the amount of exercise not just because you divide exercise .
After Exercise Calories
Exercise increases the amount of calories burned per hour even the hour after workout. This is often referred to as exercise after-burn, or excess post-exercise oxygen consumption. When you exercise, many changes in your body affect homeostasis, or the balance of the body. For example, your heart rate increases, your oxygen needs increase and your temperature changes. Your body needs energy to return its balance state and thus burns more calories. Energy also is needed to heal muscle damage, build muscle fibres, and build bone mineral density, all of which can continue after exercise.
When balance is retored your body returns to its basal metabolic rate. So while you exercise twice you get benefit of 2 hours of post-burned calories.
Convenience
Exercising twice daily helps you in weight loss due to convenience. Sometimes it is difficult to exercise for contineous 30 minutes and most times you exercise for 20 minutes only. Once you divide exercise into 15 minutes interval in the morning and at night you are increasing your exercise performance and you are burning more calories.
Recommendations
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American College of Sports Medicine suggest that all adults get at least 150 minutes of exercise each week, which can be increased to 300 minutes per week for even greater results. This comes out to two 15-minute sessions, five days a week, or two 30-minute sessions five days a week depending on your exercise goals. TIt is important to consult your doctor to make sure you are healthy enough for exercise.
