Diet tips for diabetics: Foods that increase blood sugar and add on to the belly fat

Diabetes is a serious condition and a disease that can lead to crucial complications. With healthy balanced diet and exercise, blood sugar can be controlled. The first thing to do is to know which food I can eat and which should I avoid.

Best foods to control blood sugar and reduce belly fat

Aerated Drinks

Sweetened juices and aerated ones are rich in fructose and can cause serious problem for diabetic patient as they can spike blood sugar and cause belly fat packaged drinks are high on fructose, which spike the sugar level and add on to the belly fat.

Fats

Healthy fats derived from natural resources and that are rich in omega-3 are good for diabetics as they can help in lowering the sugar level and reducing belly fat. In the other hand processed foods leads to building up of belly fat and further increases the sugar level.

Bread

White bread are high in carbs and low in fiber which can affect blood sugar and lead to belly fat. Instead you should try brown bread as they are rich in multigrain and fiber and have low glycaemic index when compared to white bread.

Raisins

We found raisins in chocolate, cake and cookies and we eat them as if they are healthy like grapes but here comes the big mistake as the dried fruit has more concentrated sugar and can increase blood sugar. Instead try natural and fresh fruit.
