Type 2 diabetes: The best type of coffee to prevent high blood sugar and control diabetes
Diabetes is a chronic disease when blood sugar remains high and this is due to insulin resistance or low insulin secretion by the pancreas.
Diabetes can lead to serious complications like kidney, nerves and eyes problems when it is left untreated.
It can be still managed by having a healthy lifestyle including low carbs and low diet along with appropriate exercise. Medications re also needed to keep blood sugar under control.
Diabetic patients need to avoid consumption of some food while adding other could lower high blood sugar.
Coffee and diabetes has been conflicted and this is due to the effect of caffeine on insulin resistance and high blood sugar level while other chemicals in coffee shown beneficial effects on lowering blood sugar and diabetes type 2.
So for diabetic patients it is recommended to have decaffeinated coffee.
In this way, patients get polyphenols that are antioxidants which help prevent and reduce inflammation and inflammatory conditions such as type 2 diabetes.
Another beneficial property is magnesium which has been linked to lower rate of diabetes.
