Does Cinnamon Help You Lose Weight?

Cinnamon was used from centuries to help with indigestion but what about it is role in weight loss?


Other health claims about cinnamon is that it improves insulin sensitivity and as result control diabetes type 2 and helps in weight loss, moreover your body needs more energy to burns this spice so eventually weight loss will occur and finally it is rich in fiber which make you full. When it comes to insulin sensitivity more studies are needed to confirm this data moreover, there no scientific data supporting energy or metabolism boosting or when it comes to fiber sure you will not get enough fiber from cinnamon alone as you consume very little amount during the day and add that over consumption of cinnamon can be toxic.


If you want to use cinnamon for weight loss the idea is that this tasty spicy replace sweeteners that contains a lot of calories whereas a teaspoon of cinnamon provides only 2 grams of carbs,1 gram of fiber and approximately 6 calories .


How to enjoy cinnamon:

You can enjoy the flavour of cinnamon by adding it to your oatmeal, fruit slices, and cup of coffee or with low fat products just to replace sweeteners.
