Tummy-Friendly Foods
Whenever your stomach hurts or you will feel pain you start thinking about avoiding food that may worsen the case and sometimes you search for food that may help. It is may be difficult to choose food when you have vomiting or diarrhoea.
Start With Liquids
First thing to do is drinking liquids that help you like sports drinks, clear broth, or coconut water as they have minerals your body needs like potassium, calcium, and sodium (salt).
Try: Bananas
They are easy to digest and rich in potassium an important mineral that you lose once you have diarrhoea.
Try: Rice
Choose white rice instead of brown rice as the last is not easily digested. Go for Starchy, low-fiber foods like white rice also can help firm up your stool and stop the diarrhoea that can come along with stomach trouble.
Try: Applesauce
It is easy to digest and rich in pectin that is a soluble fiber. It can add bulk to your stool and help get rid of your diarrhoea.
Try: Toast
White toast is better when you have upset stomach especially diarrhoea and vomiting.
Next Steps
Ounce you feel good, you can move to next step when more choices can be added like skinless chicken breast or backed potatoes. As you feel better add vegetables and fruits.
Don't Eat: Dairy
Milk and cheese are usually high in fat and may worsen digestion when you have upset stomach. Instead, you can try plain yogurt with non-fat choice but introduce it slowly to see how it goes.
Don't Eat: Fried Foods
They contain a lot of oil and fats and they make you feel worse. They are not good even when you feel healthy!
Don't Drink: Soda
Gas enters the digestive system and make your case worse, in addition to the high sugar content that worsen diarrhea.
Don't Eat: Spicy Food
Your digestive system may have to work harder to digest it, and that can make your rumbly tummy worse. Stick to the bland stuff until you feel better.
Don't Eat: Raw Fruits and Vegetables
They are nutritious and healrthy but when you have upset stomach their high fiber content make you feel worse. Ounce you feel better re-introduce them gto your diet. Start with small portions of cooked vegetables and juices.
Keep Your Tummy Happy
A balanced diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables can help keep your digestive system healthy and your immune system strong and ready to fight off bugs that might upset your stomach. And watch for triggers anything from foods that have acid like tomatoes, to fizzy drinks, to stress at work.
