Stomach bloating: The 3p snack that could be causing you an uncomfortable belly:

Stomach bloating may be caused by consumption of certain types of food like beans, onions, broccoli and cabbage.

Almonds are a type of nuts that are rich in fibre, protein, calcium, vitamin E and unsaturated fat content. They are part of a group of nuts called tree nuts, which include hazelnuts, walnuts, Brazil nuts, cashews and pistachios. Almonds are used to make marzipan, frangipani and praline.

They have been found to lower blood sugar levels, blood pressure and reduce cholesterol levels.

Raw or roasted nuts could be behind the feeling of bloating and cramps.

According to Dr hart people who have intolerance to almonds may experience bloating upon consumption of almonds and other almond-based food.

Those people may suffer from bloating, wind, stomach pain and cramps and diarrhoea - all of which can be associated with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).Even chopped, roasted or toasted can be problematic.

Almond intolerance symptoms vary from one person to another so there is no common sign to tell that this person is almon intolerant.Other common reactions sufferers can experience include eczema, itchy skin, acne, tiredness, a runny nose and sinusitis, and nausea.

You need to kow that intolerance differs from allergy. If you have an intolerance, you will likely develop symptoms over a few hours, possibly even days, as your body tries to process the problem food. But if you have an allergy, your symptoms will be immediate and much more serious - people should seek help immediately in these instances.

Majority of people suffering from almond intolerance may show reaction to other types of food which make intolerance test important.
