Stomach bloating warning - the sweet fruit you should avoid or risk trapped wind pain

Stomach bloating can be caused by eating too fast or eating certain types of food. Once you have bloating your will feel swollen stomach.


Certain types of food that belong to FODPMAP are main trigger of bloated stomach.

Cherries are among FODMAP food that contain some carbs that are difficult to digest so instead they sit in the colon and be fermented by bacteria leading to excess gas and bloating.


You can still eat cherries but chew them carefully before swallowing.


Bloating can be due to other conditions like irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, or even swallowing too much air.


Some bad habits like using straw or eating with an open mouth or even eating without proper chewing contribute to bloating too.


If bloating symptoms don’t go away you need to speak to your doctor as bloating could be a sign of ovarian cancer.
