Diabetes is a chronic disease and it is due to insulin resistance or insulin insufficiency. Without enough insulin, the sugar remain in the blood and the result will be a high blood sugar.


Making lifestyle changes is important to keep blood sugar under control, while removing some food is really important to avoid high blood sugar.

Pineapple is a high glyceamic index fruit which can cause high blood sugar. So patients with diabetes should avoid eating more than half a cup (64g) in a single day.

If you want to include pineapple into your meals try to stick to half cup and aim to eat with with protein rich meal to keep blood sugar under control. Moreover, avoid canned pineapple as they are high in sugar.


In addition, if you have diabetes, you should also avoid eating too many grapes.Patients should also avoid eating too many cherries, mango, banana and dried fruits, she added.


Common diabetes symptoms include feeling very tired, passing more urine than normal, and having an unquenchable thirst. Diagnosing diabetes at early stages is crucial to prevent disease complications like heart attack and strokes.
