7 Reasons You Should Avoid a Raw Food Diet

Introduction:

A raw food diet may sound healthy as raw fruits and vegetables consumption is linked to lower heart disease and blood pressure. But wait cooking food improves bioavailability of many nutrients for example vegetables are better when cooked!

Eating some raw food is good but when 70% of your diet is raw food, here is a problem and today I will mention the inconvenience of consuming raw food!


1. IRREGULAR PERIODS

Raw food diet is a main reason of irregular menstruation according to research


2. NUTRITIONAL DEFICIENCIES

These raw food diets lack of vitamin B12 and the result will be anaemia, heart disease, poor bone health, and infertility.


3. FOOD SAFETY

Raw food like raw meat and chicken contain bacteria like Salmonella, E. coli, and Listeria, which may cause vomiting, diarrhoea, or even death.


4. WEAKER BONES

Raw food diets are low in calcium and vitamin D both needed for strengthen bones and mineral density so people who are on raw diet tend to have lower bone mineral density.


5. DIFFICULTY

Preparing raw food is difficult and is not easy as you think as preparation method involves sprouting, blending, dehydrating, soaking and fermenting. So these methods of preparation are time-consuming if you are a busy person.


6. CONVENIENCE

Raw food is not convenient and available at restaurants so it is difficult to find them easy.


7. DIGESTIVE PROBLEMS

Raw food are hard to digest than cooked food and as a result people who have sensitive stomach tend to have bloating, food allergy and gas upon raw food consumption.
