5 Food Myths That You Should Stop Believing
Following the latest food and diet trends is like trying to figure out which reality TV star is feuding with the next.
It’s nearly impossible to keep up.
One month, a certain diet is all the rage. The next, it’s cutting this ingredient and detoxing with that.
With so much conflicting information out there, it’s no wonder you have a hard time knowing which foods are actually good for you and which ones are not.
To help you wade through the mess of misinformation,
MYTH: Juice is healthy because it comes from fruits and veggies
Juices are not healthy as you think!! Eating whole fruits and vegetables improve satiety feeling due to fiber content. While juices have no fiber, high in calories and added sugar.
MYTH: Cutting carbs is a healthy way to lose weight
Keto diet or low carbs diet are not the healthiest choices. I only believe on a well-balanced diet even low carbs diet result in weight loss but this will also lead to yo-yo dieting. Even low carbs diet is a high fat diet and most people option for non0healthy choices.
MYTH: All fat is bad for your health
This is not true. Fat is really important for normal body functioning. Not all types are created equal. For example, mono-unsaturated fatty acids are really important for healthy body in addition for a healthier heart and brain. Instead of choosing butter, choose avocados, olive oil and nuts.
MYTH: Coffee is an unhealthy habit
Coffee contains a lot of antioxidant and according to studies, coffee is linked to low risk of diabetes, cancer and Alzheimers disease. Just be careful about the amount consumed and do not add sugar to your coffee.
MYTH: Detox diets and cleanses help remove toxins
Your body has its own built-in deotxifying system for liver and kidneys. Detox drinks and juice could be harmful to your body and may cause electrolyte abonormalities.
Only one need for an elimination diet is certain medical conditions like Celiac disease otherwise there is no need to try any other type of diet.
